Miller and Carter – Doncaster, UK

Olde water mill brick slips in an olde authenic coach house in the heart of yorkshire.

Authentic in every way our olde watermill brick slips have gained their own presonality in a classy, top coach house restaurant.

Intro

An ray of sunshine has alighted Doncaster, on a busy junction heading out of the town. Miller and Carter opened its new Steak house recently in a refurbished olde coach house, to the towns delight.

Designed with a touch of ambiance our Olde Watermill brick slips are doing a fantastic job of reinforcing the chains reputation for quality.

Design

The floor plan of this old highway pub is one of nooks and cosy corners. Rooms bolted on to rooms. A maze of smaller serviceable areas with a very private and relaxing feel.

From the drawing board the designers could have opened up the whole area with a selection of lintels and wall knockouts. Instead the design was kept to the original 19 century floor plan.

Miller and Carter Doncaster

As the design concept kept the original layout of an olde coach house. To keep the old world feel in a modern installation brick slips were the only choice for keeping that feel and running it through the various areas of this eatery.

A mixture of panelled walls, open brick work and rich coloured carpets bring a warm and luminescent feeling to the whole area.

Open brick work always works within the design of great British eatery’s. When you think of an old English pub you think open fires, exposed brick work, low ceilings and dark stained woodwork.

This installation offers all that and more!

Product

The products used within the miller and carter installations are always a priority of the brand.

How can they be known for the best quality steak if the fixtures and furnishings are not of the same standard?

This is the reason why our Olde Watermill brick slips were used throughout this installation. One of the most popular brick slips in our collection the Olde Watermill covers all bases.

The Olde Watermill Brick slip is cut from genuine bricks and has a finished texture usually only achieved from handmade bricks. With a subtle blend of colours and wonderfully natural appearance this brick slip works amazingly well within this installation.

With a solid surface and randomly unique nuances this brick once installed could have been there 100 years.

For this reason the Olde watermill is a firm favourite for restaurant and bar installs.

A selection of brick slips and brick slip corners make up the key featured areas. Installed with our adhesive and using a pointing mortar the walls that bring history to this restaurant are indistinguishable from the real thing.

Result

Stunning, homely, inviting and well worth a visit!

Many restaurants can feel cold and heartless, this Miller & Carter installation feels the exact opposite. Rich tones and textures, expertly lit and an inviting atmosphere. We would like to think our Olde Watermill brick slips have contributed perfectly to the inviting feel of this wonderful steak house.
