Our Forge Brick slips have helped to create this wonderfully fun and relaxing sports bar in London.
The days of old smokey, worn down public houses with nicotine tinted yellow wall paper and sticky carpets is all but dead. The modern working population have much higher expectations and new bars and restaurants are now delivering.
Sports bars are a fast growing trend and one that shows no sign of slowing down.
This is a relaxing and modern take on the traditional sports bars of old. Brand new to London the Old street branch of Sports Bar & Grill boasts a vast array of drinks, food and sporting entertainment.
Whether you want to watch sports or just relax, the interior offers a warm and casual environment to host friends and social meetings.
Design
Fun and interesting the Sports bar & Grill is firmly on target and hits every ball to the back of the net. The designers opted to go for a quirky and mixed design that oozed character and nostalgia.
The design mixes up popular sporting memorabilia and artwork including framed pins from a ten pin bowling game. This area in particular is set against a textured swatch of Camden brick slips. Used as a fixed frame to mount the artwork.
Beech wood sprung flooring has been designed throughout, giving the appearance similar to basketball flooring being both light and clean in appearance.
Picnic benches and large HD screens dominate the main sports area making the design feel highly social and extremely trendy. Forge brick slips feature extensively in this area and pitched next to a bank of 1980`s style American high school lockers they really pop out.
The brick walls bring the outside in and under certain aspects give a real “back to school” theme.
Graffiti artwork and Gas filled Neon Lights just reinforce the designers “old school” sports theme. As well as an abundance of areas to watch sports, the designers also included pool tables and darts boards to keep the social aspect of the design real.
These touches work really well and are sure to keep the customers entertained.
Product – Forge Brick Slips
The Moda range of brick slips were developed with commercial and leisure projects in mind. The forge brick slips which feature throughout this joyous establishment compliment the design to incredible detail. Having a commercial crisp smooth wall internally plays to a lot of this designs key notes.
Forge brick slips create a smooth and consistent surface, you can see areas where yellow neon light figures have been mounted. The dark canvas that the forge creates makes for a great setting.
The product itself is highly engineered and incredibly durable. These brick slips were installed using a rapid setting tile adhesive and left 48 hours before being pointed.
The installers opted to use our Natural white gun injection mortar to finish off the job. A great point to add here is that the lighter the mortar colour the more the brick slips pop out.
The walls themselves make an artistic feature of the “brick bond pattern” to great affect.
Result
Weather you want to watch sports at all, play a game of pool or simply want to catch up with your family and friends. Sports Bar and Grill has been designed and built to excel at facilitating just that.
This is a perfect chilled out bar and restaurant. Complete with enough TV screens and entertainment to keep you busy all night long.
We feel that our Forge brick slips contributed in ample amounts. Helping achieve the modern and popular look it has been given.
