Residential Kitchen – Nottingham,UK

A beautiful residential project in Nottingham using our Saxon brick slips to full effect.

What is great about moving into a new property is that you have a blank canvass. You don`t have to let the previous owners poor decor choices stand in the way of a dream kitchen.

The kitchen is often the social hub of the family home. It is the space where we cook, indulge a little, socialise and often entertain.

It is important with any kitchen design to get the fundamentals right and this wonderful case study has done just that.

Design

Functionality, stylish. warm and inviting were clearly some of the buzz words used when planning through this space. This glorious new kitchen renovation has not only added value to the property but it has created a stylish and modern space to live in.

From the images you can see the passion and creativity that poured into this design. The additional of a single warm brick slip feature wall is inspired and adds a significant amount of personality to this room.

Kitchens are no longer just about cooking and indulging. Ample seating, large illuminating windows and soft furnishings make this kitchen extremely inviting.

Shaker style kitchen units and storage mean that this kitchen can be extremely functional and also very tidy. The cooking area is perfectly backed by our Saxon brick slips. The incorporation of the brick slips adds a traditional warmth and bags of character to this sleek design.

Product

Saxon brick slips are a brilliant choice of slip for kitchen installations. Due to the bricks light surface variance they make a great product for large featured areas.

You only have to look through home interior magazines or check out our Instagram page to see that this style of brick slip can make a kitchen shine and come alive.

This particular installation the customer chose to clad the wall in a standard stretcher bond wall pattern. The Saxon brick slips were installed using our Rapid setting tile adhesive.

The installers used T spacers to create the 10mm mortar joint gap. Once the adhesive had fully cured this impressive wall was pointed up using our Natural white gun injected pointing mortar.

Saxon is a product that offers subtle tonal variance and works really well with areas that have ample natural light. Although it is a red clay base, the sandy finished surface lightens somewhat creating a warm tone.

Result

Renovating a kitchen is an opportunity to inject elements of personality into the home. When designed and installed as good as this case study brick slips in kitchens really do speak volumes.

After all, the kitchen is a space that most of us spend the majority of our time in, so it’s important that it is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

Our Saxon brick slips have done an amazing job in helping to achieve that.

These products are not just popular in kitchens and residential properties. Commercial installations constantly benefit from using our products to dramatic effect.
