Our latest case study sees us visiting Langtry’s entertainment venue in Crewe. Recently renovated and boasting a fantastic brick slip vaulted ceiling Langtrys gives us a stunning insight into modern social entertainment.

Being the perfect venue for private events, this building boasts a generous space, including a huge dance-floor a stage, a pool table and plenty of seating throughout.

Providing an amazing entertainment space is not easy….

Design – Brick slip Vaulted Ceiling

The designers of Langtrys were given a brief to create a fresh, bright and colourful bar concept that would primarily appeal to both students and young proffessionals.

This installation within a basement area posed a few interesting design elements. Firstly with distinct vaulted brick slip ceiling architecture, the designers worked brilliantly with the style of the room to make a styled feature of this key part of the room.

Working in brick cladding to the supporting pillars as well as the ceiling was a clever approach to the layout. The use of brick slips has created a distinctive style, which in turn allowed bold brick work detailing to create maximum impact.

Olde Bayswater brick slip cladding has been set against existing brick work to continue the exposed brick work theme throughout.

One of the most prominent features of this room is the showpiece copper moulded bar lit below with energising green LED lighting. Sleek and crisp steel stools finished with timber seat tops make the finished article unique, eye catching and very appealing.

Product

Opting for the Olde Bayswater Brick slips was certainly the best idea. The Olde Bayswater has a consistent solid red clay base and matches in perfectly with the buildings existing internal brick work. Like reclaimed and handmade bricks these slips are full of character and can vary substantially in both colour and texture.

Distinctive and unique the choice of brick slip looks great across this large open social area.

Different brick bond patterns were used on the brick slip vaulted ceiling, this gave the whole installation a very unique and historical feel.

This project saw the installers use a rapid set tile adhesive to fix the brick slips to the wall surface and ceiling areas. Pointing was achieved using our Light grey gun injected mortar.

On projects such as this it is always advisable that gun injected mortar is used for speed and appearance.

Result

The results of this brick slip vaulted ceiling installation are stunning, with strong traditional elements including the pillars, timber flooring and warm luminescence from the modern lighting.

A warm and trendy style, including a layout that can seamlessly move from party atmosphere to, bar to entertainment venue. These points haves certainly been achieved and we are very proud of the results.
