Holiday Inn – Manchester, UK

Olde Heritage Brick slips now at one of the UK's most popular inn

Introduction

Famed for their economic child friendly hotels. Holiday Inn is a brand that is well regarded within the UK hospitality industry.

Committed to delivering true hospitality to all their customers, they are constantly regenerating and refurbishing their portfolio to meet modern guest’s expectations and needs.

In this recent renovation we can see how well the inclusion of our real clay brick slips has worked.
Fresh, modern and better than ever. This case study offers a great showcase on how to create the perfect mix of business and pleasure for today’s comfort-seeking contemporary traveler.

Design

Light, modern, relaxing and contemporary. These are all words which we would use to describe this stunningly simple design.
Natural tones and easily identifiable textures bring this whole area together. When we book into a hotel we tend not to think of the psychology of the décor. Although we don’t think of this aspect, it plays a huge part in the design process.

The term home from home is regularly used, and for good reason. The best hotels in the world offer a relaxing and comforting environment that facilitates openness and ease of acceptance.
The design of the reception uses light and subtle tones. Solid timber fixtures and paneling, rustic reclaimed brick slips and masonry work. All help bring the homeliness and modernity together an accepted and functional way.

A highlight of this transient design is the use of suspended hardwood beams over head. Set above the eye line and against our Olde Heritage brick slips they entice visitors with awe.
The reception and snug area promotes an engaging place to rest, recharge and get a little work done.

Product

Throughout this installation the Olde heritage brick slips offer up a reclaimed brick appearance and work splendidly in harmony with the colour scheme.
Reclaimed bricks are full of character and exhibit a raw and earthy feel. Set against the modern fixtures of the Holiday Inn reception they bring a wonderful texture to the whole project. Reclaimed brick slips are known for their rugged and worn appearance. A mixture of red tones and weathered scared faces, this brick slip was a perfect choice all round by the designers.

Once the walls were pointed with our gun injected pointing mortar the Olde heritage brick slips exuded rich history.
Corners slips were used extensively around the reception reveals. A pivotal decision in making the whole installation believable.

Result

A wonderful showcase that exhibits both modern and traditional elements. We are thrilled to see how well our products have integrated within this project. The credit goes out to the designers and Holiday Inn for such a great case study. Holiday Inn are a company that truly care about their customers and the surroundings.

Whether you’re traveling for business, fun with friends and family, or pure luxury, this hotel will impress from the offset, partly thanks to our wonderful brick slip products that greet them.
