Olde Bayswater brick slips offering up a slice of rustic

Bringing real wood-fired pizza and authentic Italian gelato to the city of Hull, Bert’s Pizzaria on Queen’s Street in Hull has proven a huge hit.

This local family company have built up an exceptional reputation for serving quality Italian cuisine. We are delighted that our Olde bayswater brick slips played such a pivotal role in giving the restaurant an interior to match.

Design

The designers brief was clear from the offset, this establishment needed to be relaxing and family friendly. Couples with amazing food and ambiance.

Having a blank canvass to work with the designers could run free with their ideas. The restaurant features a number of distinctly designed areas including a bespoke bar and numerous seating zones.

Authenticity and quality are a massive part of Bert’s brand, and you can see this when you look at the quality of the materials used.

Brick slips aside, a bespoke ceiling raft made from reclaimed scaffold planks and mild steel brackets, dominates the upper sight line.

The designers really pulled out all the stops when dealing with colour and texture. The brick slip feature walls have a visually impactful texture. Alongside the reclaimed timber, metal shelving and ample lighting they combine to create amazing results.

Product

Distressed and traditional the choice of brick slip couldn’t have been better. Olde Bayswater Blend brick slips can command a room and can bring a sense of deep warmth and history. These brick slips look great across this restaurant floor plan.

This project saw the installers use a rapid set tile adhesive to fix the brick slips to the wall surface. Pointing was achieved using our Light grey gun injected mortar.

On projects such as this it is always advisable that gun injected mortar is used for speed and appearance.

Bringing a rich Italian feel the red clay balances out the light areas of the room, this is a huge testament to the Olde Bayswater blend brick slips.

Results

Berts Pizzaria has been one of the most enlightening examples of our Olde Bayswater brick slips being used within a restaurant.

The design and care that was taken in using our products, both allowing them to be unassuming and also giving them a certain spotlight is a credit to the entire Berts Pizzaria project.

We cannot wait for a slice of what they serve up next !
